This workbook is designed for anyone involved in teaching or supporting school swimming, whether you’re a teacher, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or a qualified swimming teacher – this workbook is made for you!

This is our complete guide to teaching or supporting school swimming. It is a simplistic, practical guide and workbook which includes:

  • An easy-to-follow school swimming programme.
  • Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels of school swimming, as well as water safety: safe self-rescue.
  • Colour-coded sections, including: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
  • Practical skills, drills and strokes for the 3 levels of school swimming (see above), including: front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke; and Water Safety.
  • QR codes which grant access to (48) videos, all shot in 4K. Each video shows the skill, drill or stroke, demonstrated either on land, in action (in the swimming pool, swum by a swimmer), or both.
  • Simple teaching points which follow Swim England’s BLABT approach: Body Position, Leg action, Arm action, Breathing, Timing/coordination.

Please note, this workbook is best used in combination with ‘A Deep Dive into Teaching School Swimming and Water Safety CPD Workshop’ (5 hours).
